May 2022 Product Update

Our latest updates enable venues to manage their distribution channels and set auto cancellation rules for bookings.

MeetingPackage Product Update May 2022

Summary

In May 2022 we've shipped some frequently requested features:

  • Manage your venue's online presence through our brand new Channel Manager.
  • Choose if you want to cancel events automatically after a provisional hold date or event date if the customer has not responded.
  • Customers will now see a redesigned thank you page after a booking or booking request (the old one was, well, old).

New features

We work hard to build new features, and this time we're proud to say that we've managed to launch new features at a record speed. Sit down and enjoy!

Channel Manager

The new channel manager allows venue owners to choose where they want to make their meeting rooms available. In addition, owners can adjust the pricing of their offerings for each channel separately. With the two main views (Channel View and Venue View) managing your meeting room visibility across the channels becomes a breeze.

Auto Cancellation

Auto cancellation feature

As a venue owner, you know that sometimes a customer doesn't answer a proposal. Up to this point, it was on venue's responsibility to cancel the unfinished bookings manually. But not anymore! From this point on, venue owners can set rules to cancel an event booking automatically. You can configure the auto cancellation rules for each venue individually or edit the rules in bulk for selected or all venues.

The auto cancellation feature is available for all of our customers and should make it easier to maintain your bookings.

Supplier email permission settings

different-emails

We have to admit something: This feature wasn't released in May, but already in April, and we forgot to mention it. Oops 🫢 Anyhow, the title says it all: We now allow suppliers to set different email receivers based on order status. This feature helps people receive relevant emails only.

Redesign

Behind the scenes, we're working hard to redesign our product gradually. We've decided to invest in improving our design, and you should see plenty of design updates soon. One view we wanted to prioritise was our thank you page, which was visually outdated.

A new thank you page

New design for MeetingPackages thank you page

Event bookers are in for a pleasant surprise when they book a meeting or send a booking request: A brand new thank you page. We scrapped the existing page in favour of a new, clean approach. This redesign is part of our recent design efforts to make MeetingPackage a more pleasing product for venues and customers.

Smaller improvements

In addition to new features and redesigns, we've updated existing functionality:

  • Selecting a meeting room seating order (layout) is now mandatory. This feature should reduce unnecessary communication between the customer and the venue.
  • Venues using Opera can now price Opera Food and Beverage (F&B) items on MeetingPackage.
  • Opera venues can configure and sell packages not configured in Opera.
  • We automatically fall back to an enquiry if a 3DS payment fails.
  • Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

Conclusion

That's it for May 2022! We have plenty of new features and updates on the pipeline, so stay tuned for future updates. In the meantime, feel free to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.
