August 2023 Product Update

August was yet another integration-heavy month, but we also improved our notification logic and fine-tuned the group booking feature.

Summary

The TL;DR (Too Long; Didn't Read) summary of what happened in August:

  • Infor integration: enquiry booking and room / package availability.
  • Notifications: From now on, customers will not receive email notifications for changes to the booking before the supplier has confirmed the booking. The changes are also hidden on the customer Order Management page.
  • Group booking: The customer dashboard shows the agency name properly. We also added automated tests to ensure smooth operation.
  • Plenty of bug fixes.

Infor integration improvements

We work hard to improve our integrations, and this month wasn't an exception: we made significant progress with our Infor integration. Namely, we worked on enquiry bookings and availabilities for rooms and packages. Stay tuned for more information on the progress.

Notification improvements

With the number of emails people receive today, we're excited to share some good news: From this point on, when a supplier makes changes to the booking before confirming it, we won't send emails about the changes. The changes are also hidden on the customer Order Management page. Combined, these changes should keep the communication to the customer leaner, which we consider a win-win situation.

Group booking improvements

To make meeting rooms and events bookable online for larger groups, we recently released the group booking (or group request) feature. We've committed plenty of resources to develop and improve the feature, and this month was no exception. Now, if the booker is an agency, we show the agency name on the group request listing. We also added automated tests to ensure consistent quality when we continue developing what we believe to be a game changer in the industry. As with the other updates, stay tuned for more in the months to come.

Bug fixes and improvements

Ah, bugs and their fixes. Here's what has happened in that realm:

  • In some rare instances, duplicating a booking on the calendar view threw an error. The root cause has been identified, and the bug is long gone.
  • Sometimes, there were minor inconsistencies in the shown dates and times when moving from the search page to the venue page. Not anymore.
  • Over a dozen minor improvements to our group booking feature.
  • We fixed a minor bug in our caching functionality for Opera-connected venues.
