You can create discount and corporate codes for your frequent corporate clients or promotional codes that you can use to eg. in marketing campaigns. When you provide this code to the client and they enter it during the booking process, the special rate you have set for that code will be automatically applied. To start creating corporate/promotional codes, go to Rates & Products on the left-hand menu and select Discount Codes.
You can either create the same codes for all the venues you manage or you can create different codes for individual venues. To create the same codes for all venues:
- Choose All Venues from the drop-down
- Click Add Code
- Insert the code you want and determine the discount % the client will get with this code for meeting room hire and/or packages
- Save the code from the save button in the right-hand corner.
To create a code that is valid only in an individual venue:
- Select the venue from the dropdown list
- Click the blue + Add Discount Code -button on the top-right corner
- Type in the desired discount code you wish to create.
- Click the Save -button on the bottom right corner
Once you have saved the code, you can set the specific discount percentages for all rooms, catalog items, and packages associated with that code by entering the desired values in the discount fields.
💡 It might take up to 30 minutes before the discount code starts to work.
When you want to remove an existing code, e.g., after your campaign ends, find the code by choosing all venues or an individual venue name and clicking edit. At the bottom of the content modal, you find the delete button under the Danger zone heading.
To create a promotional URL with an embedded discount code: (only applicable to Booking Engine customers)
If you are a booking engine customer, you can use embedded discount codes in the url.
You have a great way to highlight your corporate rates through your marketing campaigns by using a discount code embedded within a unique URL. The unique URL can be used in newsletters, marketing emails, social media posts etc.
The link consists of 2 sections, the 1st section is your booking engine link. You can see your booking engine link (highlighted in blue) under the Booking Engine settings on the side menu. Click the link and it will open up your booking engine profile in the browser. copy the link from the browser.
e.g. https://meetingpackagehotel.meetingpackage.com/venue/meetingpackage-hotel
The 2nd section is the discount code you created using the tutorial above. Since we have created a discount code 1234 with 15% discount on both meeting rooms and packages, let's use that to create a URL embedded with a discount code. e.g.
https://meetingpackagehotel.meetingpackage.com/venue/meetingpackage-hotel?discount_code=1234
Here we added the text ?discount_code=1234 after your booking engine url.
You can create as many discount codes as possible and use it with your Booking Engine profile link. You can also embed these unique links in any social media post or marketing campaign. People clicking on these links will automatically see the discounted rates and can book with those rates.
